On behalf of the Queensland Masters Squash Association (QMSA), I would like to invite your centre/club to apply to host a QMSA sanctioned tournament in 2024.

The closing date for applications is 30th September 2023.

It is the aim of the QMSA to hold tournaments to promote Queensland Masters squash. While the majority of players will be QMSA members, we urge strong local participation. Please keep in mind while applying that you need a large contingent from your squash centre to ensure a successful tournament.

Due to the popularity of centres wishing to host a tournament, it is imperative you return your application before the closing date. If there are more number of applications than available tournament dates, some centres may miss this opportunity.

In general, our members enjoy a variety of tournament formats and locations. With this in mind, we endeavour to maintain a good mix of venues throughout the state. We note that mixed and team formats are quite popular. We request all centres list their tournament format preference on the application form.

Points to be considered when applying for a tournament:

  • Experienced personnel are essential to conduct a successful tournament
  • Courts and centre must be of good standard
  • You must have good club support

It is important to note that organisers from the squash centre are responsible for running the tournament and draw. The QMSA Tournament Director will provide the latest rankings.

Whilst the QMSA cannot guarantee members will compete in your tournament, we can:

  • Promote interest via the QMSA website(s)
  • Send the QMSA calendar to as many squash centres as possible

You should not hold other squash activities (e.g. club practice, fixtures) during the tournament.

The number of courts at your centre may dictate entry numbers and/or the type of tournament to conduct.

The tournament guidelines details the requirements and costs of running a QMSA tournament.

Application Process

Please ensure that the dates you select for hosting your tournament does not clash with other sanctioned tournaments at the time. We will do our best to avoid such clashes.

We ask that you carefully consider the tournament guidelines before applying for a tournament.

Download, complete and sign the tournament application Form.
Scan and email application back to the QMSA Tournament Director (tournaments@qmsa.asn.au) before the closing date.

Whilst you are under no obligation to join QMSA, we recommend centre owners/operators to join us to keep up with our latest news and updates.

Thank you for your considerations and we look forward to receiving your application.
